Portrait and self portrait intro

2-3 best tips:

1) Experiment with Lighting
2) Experiment with subject expressions
3) Use a reflective surface for a cool effect

Environmental Portraits:

I like this picture because of the lines leading up to the boxer in the corner and how the boxer looks very at home in his natural element.

I like this picture because of the cool lighting and how the subject looks like she's genuinely having fun.

Self Portraits:

I think this picture is really interesting because of the background and how we can see underwater a little bit too.

I like this picture because of the pretty colors in the forest and also the effect it gives viewers. It's very impactful.

Casual Portraits:

I like this picture because of the child's expression and how he focuses on the flower.

I like this picture because of how simple it is and the line effect leading up to the subject. How the subject leans is cool too.

Plan for portrait assignment:
My plan for the portrait part of the assignment is to take a picture of my brother's face in front of our distressed backyard fence. The last time I did this assignment, I think my biggest struggle was that I chose a complicated background, which I won't do this time. For my self portrait, I want to take a picture of myself with just my head showing coming up from the pool, and possibly with another subject in that picture too. I had thought about this picture the last time, but it didn't work out, so I think I will try and do it this time. I love to swim, and hopefully that self portrait can be a gateway to summer.
