1. Waymo's new cars drive themselves - they stop at intersections, make turns, park, etc. This permits many people with disabilities to drive. People believe that these cars would allow a safer environment because there wouldn't be as many drunk or distracted people on the road.
2. Many people who couldn't drive before can benefit from this new car. People who have disabilities would benefit greatly from this.
3. Personally, I like having at least a little control. I think it would scare me a little bit to think of machines driving everyone around. What if they malfunctioned? No one could stop it.
4. I think once these cars are perfected, I'm hoping that the next transportation invention will be having more cars that are like electric cars and better for the environment. With those implemented into our area, it would help the environment greatly.
