Roger Clementine
Why were you driving a car without a license? I couldn't get a license since I'm only 13. There was no other way to get to my friend's house.
Why were you driving in the wrong lane? I didn't realize I was in the wrong lane until I saw the cars coming towards me. I didn't know what to do, I was scared.
Do you feel bad about what happened? I feel very bad about this. I don't know when I can drive a car again after this. I hope that the people I hurt recover soon.
What was your thought process when you realized what happened? I looked around, surprised and horrified at what I had done. I couldn't believe the consequences of what I did. After that, they took me to the hospital.
Do you feel you deserve how the police cited you? I deserve it. Of course, no one likes to be in trouble with he police, but I did something awful.
Who are your parents? How have they treated you since the accident? My parents didn't know I took their car until after the accident. Let's just say I won't be able to drive the car for a very long time. I feel so bad that it effected my family and other families as well.
John Jacob Jingleheimer-Smith
How has your recovery process been? It's been hard to recover from something so detrimental to my health. Part of recovering has been my emotional recovery as well, the whole process was quite jarring.
What feelings do you have towards Roger Clementine? I honestly don't know. I don't think the kid knew what he was doing, and I hope he's okay. But I'm upset that his mistake could hurt my health so much.
Who helped you the most in the midst of the accident? My wife, Melba, has helped me a lot in this recovery. She's been my major source of support at the scene of the accident and in the hospital as well.
What was your thought process when the accident occurred? I saw a car coming towards me, and I tensed up because I knew there was nothing I could do. I closed my eyes and felt the slam of the car against mine, and that's all I fully remember.
Do you believe Clementine deserved any more justice for what he did? Clementine didn't deserve any more justice. Like I said, he's just a very irresponsible kid. I want to know where his parents have been in this process though,
Melba Jingleheimer-Smith
How have you been recovering from this process? I luckily didn't have too many severe injuries. I've mostly felt shocked and I've had to recover from how scary it was.
Have you been scared for your husband's health? I've been scared for my husband. He can't bounce back easily from an injury like this.
