C.E. quiz #1.4

Short Response:
1. The four senators are Lindsey Graham, Bill Cassidy, John McCain, and Louie Gohmert
2. In 1969, during the Nixon administration
3. Skimmers are small devices put on credit cards that people use to steal your information
4. Target wants to keep and hire the best employees possible
5. Robert Baden-Powell

Long Response:
1. I've heard about this topic a small amount before reading the story, but not very much. I've only heard bits of conversation about it here and there from family and friends, but I didn't know how large of a controversy it was before reading this article.
2. I don't think NFL players should be required to stand for the anthem because they should be allowed to express their own opinions. They are not doing anything harmful to anyone by kneeling and using their own voices, so no one should force them to do something they don't believe in. This is controversy over a peaceful protest, which football players should be allowed to do.
3. I don't think they should have to participate if they do not wish to, but they should be respectful to the rest of their team and the rest of the country. The only reason they should not participate is because they strongly believe in not standing; they shouldn't leave or stay in the locker room if they don't care about the matter.
4. I personally don't think most things he posts on his twitter feed are appropriate. This matter is no exception. I think that it is inappropriate to go after a moral dilemma and political issue over social media - it makes his opinions extremely unprofessional. Slamming others over social media is a childish way of going about your views something in my opinion.
5. I do think that the underlying topic here, at least a small amount, is race. It's not blatantly obvious to our eyes, but I still think that hints of it are there. I feel like if the situation was completely flipped and it was white males, Trump would not have such a large problem with people speaking their mind about the mistreat of their race. Although we cannot know for sure, it can be seen that this issue was originally started from a matter of race, so it must have some effect.
6. I don't know much about Colin Kaepernick; I'm not very involved in sports. I do know that his opinions sparked this controversy over kneeling, and people have taken it as inspiration for their own opinions. He kneeled as a sign of protest last year to Trump being elected as president.
