C.E. #1.2

Current Events Quiz:

1. Nearly 5,000 people
2. You could find a giant trampoline, a rope swing, and 2 water slides
3. Amazon bought Whole Foods
4. Brevity and Typ-O HD
5. the only place I've been to is Waterloo records

Long response:
1. My family is very close to two families in Southern Houston who are suffering from Hurricane Harvey who have had to evacuate their homes. We've tried to offer as much support as we can, but at this point there is not that much else to do.
2. If there was a major storm about to impact my home, my family would evacuate our home and stay, temporarily, further North. Of course, that's easier said than done, and I know that it would be hard to leave our home behind knowing it might not be the same again, or could be destroyed.
3. I think the state and the federal government should be responsible for providing temporary homes for people to get back on their feet after the hurricane occurs. Also, they should help fix a minimal amount on homes, still allowing people to pay an amount for their damage, but not making everyone pay so much that it is barely possible for them to live in an acceptable place.
4. Major private property damages, such as an entire home is completely swept away, should be mostly payed for by the government. Smaller property damages should be payed for by the residents who live in them, since the government can't pay for everything.
5. I definitely think climate change played a major role in this hurricane. Hopefully, once people see the effects of what climate change has done, then we might take steps further to help our environment.
